Though this station is within the airport grounds, there are no facilities for air passengers, so nearly all users of the station are professionals. Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and others have offices in the area as well, making the station important in the airline industry.
Also on the airport grounds are the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport & Tourism's Civil Aviation Bureau, as well as the 3rd Regional Coast Guard Headquarters and its Special Rescue Base, so there are people in the area working hard to keep the seas safe.
